Some samples of the programs available for outreach are: Virtual Lighthouse Tour, The Science of Light, Living at the Lighthouse, The Lighthouse Keepers Tasks, Digging at the Lighthouse, STEAM Lighthouse Laboratory, Florida Seminole Indians, and many more. Discover the History and Architecture of The Pacetti Hotel on 3/11/22

Come to Cracker Creek on 3/11/22 to enjoy a special outreach program hosted by the Lighthouse and Museum’s Registrar and Assistant Curator, Felipe De Paula. He will highlight the history and architecture of one of Volusia County’s oldest buildings, the Pacetti Hotel. This waterfront hotel is located on our museum grounds. Constructed in the 1880s, the Pacetti Hotel is a perfect example of the Florida Cracker style of architecture. The hotel features raised floors, local materials, large windows, and a shaded front porch. Come learn how Florida’s turn-of-the-century pioneers dealt with the rugged Florida outdoors in a time before centralized air conditioning became the norm.

This event is presented free of charge, brought to you by the Programs Department at Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and the Ponce De Leon Lighthouse Preservation Association. /OUTREACH–The-Historic-Pacetti-Hotel-and-Florida-Cracker-Architecture—Cracker-Creek-7-9856.html

Explore the Three Lighthouses of Volusia County

Come to the Enterprise Museum on 3/23/22 at 4PM to discover the three Lighthouses of Volusia County presented by Lead Docent John Mann and Programs Manager Zach Hopple.

However, Volusia County did have three lighthouses built along its coasts. The presentation will cover the history of lighthouses, facets of lighthouses throughout the world and history, with a special focus on the three lighthouses of Volusia County. And you will learn one of Volusia’s best kept historic secrets!

The Enterprise Museum is located at 360 Main Street Enterprise, Florida. For more information contact the Enterprise Museum at 386-259-5900.  Admission is free but donations are always appreciated.
