Visit the Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse and Museum this Memorial Day weekend and journey into the past! Climb 175 feet to the top of Florida’s Tallest Lighthouse where spectacular views of the World’s Most Famous Beach and inland waterways await. Explore one the largest and best-preserved historic light stations in the country and discover the fascinating maritime and social history of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and the local Florida region as you tour the light station’s world famous museum.
Volunteer docents dressed as local historic figures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries will be onsite from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (May 23-25). Meet Principal Keeper Thomas O’Hagan and his wife Julia and discover what it was like to live and work at the light station in the “old days” as you learn about historic Fresnel lenses and other lighthouses around the world. After meeting with O’Hagans be sure to stop and talk with the “tool lady” and examine antique hand-tools and other historic artifacts.
The Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and Museum will be open to the public on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. (last admission sold at 6:00 pm). All activities are included with the price of regular admission. Admission prices are $6.95 for adults ages 12 and up, and $1.95 for children ages 3-11. Infants age 0-2 are admitted at no charge. Parking is free.
COVID-19 Update: The Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and Museum asks that all visitors are healthy and not exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 before arriving. All lighthouse guests are required to practice safe social distancing practices whenever possible and not congregate in groups of eleven or more when it is not. Please follow all lighthouse safety guidelines and traffic flow signs while visiting. Hand sanitizer stations within the museum grounds and high traffic areas are disinfected by lighthouse staff throughout the day. Due to occupancy restrictions, guests may be required to wait to climb the tower or enter certain areas including the gift shop and museum buildings during their stay. Masks are not required at this time but recommended. Please be courteous and understanding, these protective measures are in place for the good of us all.
