Phase 1 is Underway: The Historic Pacetti Hotel Museum

Phase 1 of the Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse Preservation Association’s three year plan to preserve, restore, rehabilitate, and develop the historic Pacetti property into a public museum is well-underway. This important project is funded in part by a generous grant from the Paul B. Hunter and Constance D. Hunter Charitable Foundation. This exciting partnership provides substantial financial support for the Pacetti project in exchange for naming rights for the planned museum in memory of Constance D. Hunter.

Work completed to date includes site cleanup, shoreline stabilization, removal of dead trees and invasive species throughout the property, restoration of the hotel’s wood floors and two historic outbuildings, reroofing of property’s garage, and significant historic research and site documentation. The Association is also pleased to announce that the museum’s application to include the Pacetti Hotel on the National Register of Historic Places was accepted by the National Park Service and that the hotel was officially listed in the National Register on November 23, 2020.

Although much has been done in short period of time, the completed tasks listed above represent only a fraction of the work that needs to be completed before the Constance D. Hunter Historic Pacetti Hotel Museum can be officially opened to the public. The Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse Preservation Association asks that you consider donating to Pacetti Hotel Fund in support of this worthy endeavor. Your generosity will help the Association preserve and interpret this important piece of Ponce Inlet and Florida history for this and future generations to enjoy.
