Job Description:
The Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse Preservation Association is always interested in hearing from conscientious, professional, and experienced individuals who are interested in joining the museum’s maintenance team. Typical maintenance department responsibilities include custodial, light construction, historic restoration, grounds keeping, and general facility maintenance. Applicants should possess general construction skills and experience in the use of hand and power tools. Professional experience in the construction trades, cabinetry work, or historic preservation and restoration is preferred. Applicants must be capable of performing manual labor under various weather conditions. Due to the nature of the position, applicants should be in good physical condition and able to stand and/or walk for extended periods, climb a ladder up to 16 feet, ascend 9 flights of stairs on multiple occasions throughout the day, and lift objects over 50 pounds with proper safety equipment. Applicants must be available for opening and closing shifts, Sunday through Saturday (including some holidays). The ideal candidate possesses a “can-do”, team-oriented attitude. Attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and personal initiative are a few of the qualities that the Preservation Association looks for in all potential employees. The Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse Preservation Association is always interested in hearing from conscientious, professional, and experienced individuals who are interested in joining the museum’s gift shop sales team. The main responsibilities of all gift shop staff members are to provide and maintain outstanding customer service, process merchandise and admission sales, generate and collect donations, recruit new Association members, maintain the gift shop sales floor, and serve as museum ambassadors by providing guests information about the history of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and Pacetti Hotel and the museum’s many onsite offerings.
