The National Historic Landmark Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and Museum welcomes all to celebrate Veterans Day, and especially honors US active duty, auxiliary, veterans and their families of the Coast Guard, on Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Active US Service members, active US Coast Guard members, and Coast Guard veterans are admitted free.

A US Coast Guard Aids to Navigation team with a rescue craft will interact with all lighthouse visitors, there will be a flag raising ceremony at 11 AM, and a special presentation at 1 PM by Ponce Inlet Lighthouse Director of Operations Mike Bennett who will honor the history of the Coast Guard, its local base across the waters of the inlet, and the long relationship of the US Lighthouse Service and the Coast Guard. Keeper-docents in United States Lighthouse Service uniforms and others will answer questions and conduct orientation tours at the lighthouse station during the day, while other costumed docent reenactors will bring to life historic figures from the past. There also will be a take-home children’s craft distributed that day.
Special activities on site will be centered around the Evolution of the Coast Guard and Flags from 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM. All activities are included with regular admission, no advance reservations required.
