Pump House

In 1906 an artesian well was dug ten yards south of the lighthouse tower. An 8' windmill and a 600 gallon cypress-wood tank were installed on a tower over the well to provide water for the keepers' dwellings.
In 1925, the current structure was built to house a gasoline-fueled generator to provide electricity to the Light Station. When an electric water pump was installed here, the windmill was taken down, although the water tower remained until after World War II. Today the water tank is gone, but the well is still in use and continues to supply the Light Station with water for the irrigation of the lawn.
